by After discussing with my husband all the wonderful options presented for our kitchen update by Fabulous Design+, we are moving forward with our master plan!
This 3D video these ladies made for me totally knocks my socks off! It gives me such confidence in proceeding {plus it helps the hubs to visualize it all as well}.
The make-over plan includes:
~ new lighting above the island
~ a chalkboard for the front of the island
~ a new designer faucet
~ purple paint
~ a glass tile backsplash with a double stripe of metallic rounds
Our first do-it-yourself project was replacing the lighting. As I shared before, our old frosted-glass lights above the island always looked dusty to me and my husband kept hitting his head on them. As a matter of fact, the poor guy bonked his head four times during the process of replacing them!
One of the lighting choices that the Fabulous Design+ ladies suggested, and that I completely fell in love with, were Hampton Bay light pendants with black finish and capiz shells. My husband mostly was enamored with the fact that they were budget-friendly at $39.99 each from Home Depot.
My friend Marilena said they were like earrings for my kitchen, and I totally agree. It is kind of amazing how something so simple can dress up an area so much.
