Western Development Museum's Boo Town

The Western Development Museum's Boo Town is a one-night Halloween extravaganza happening October 30. This annual event always promises lots of fun carnival-type games along the "Monster Midway" and trick-or-treating down "Boo Town Street."

My kids enjoy visiting all the different shops in Boo Town to gather clues from the costumed proprietors to solve a mystery.

For kids that like things a bit scarier, there's a tour through the agricultural implements area that includes a spooky story and surprises in the dark. There's also a story time that's not-at-all scary, which my 5-year-old really enjoyed last year. 

You can have your family pictures taken in costume in the BOOmtown Photo Studio.  And/or you can try the fun new activity that my family tried last year that really added to our Boo Town experience. I challenged everyone to find the perfect backdrop in the WDM to go with their costumes, and it was so fun to see what they picked!

My son dressed up as a "greaser" from the 1950s, and his choices of backdrops were perfection...as was his cool-dude attitude!

My daughter wore an Elasti-Girl costume, as did a third of the other little girls for Halloween 2018! I was amazed at the backdrops she found as well!

My husband and I picked the WDM Harness Shop and horse as our backdrop for our Knight in Shining Armor and Damsel in Distress costumes. While we were standing here, we actually had two different sets of people we didn't know ask to take their photos with us!  

Regular museum admission applies and WDM members enter for free. You may purchase tickets online or at the door.
