 Singing with Sylvia for Christmas

eat lunch. help haiti.

Plan to meet a friend for lunch at the new Community Farmers Market at St. James' Anglican Church on Wednesday, Jan. 20. The Market Café will offer patrons a hearty soup and a bun for a donation to the Canadian Red Cross in response to the Haiti earthquake.

The Market Café is open Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Community Farmers Market. It provides one hot meal each week, plus fresh and frozen-to-go samosas and at least one completely vegetarian item. Most dishes are prepared with Saskatchewan-sourced ingredients and Indian seasonings.

I "sampled" the Market Café's beef stew a couple weeks ago and was given a generous bowl full of goodness. Mmmmm! I also took home a few frozen samosas to go with our meal that evening.

St. James' is located by the Refinery at 609 Dufferin Avenue, Saskatoon. The Community Farmers Market is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each Wednesday in the church's basement. Enter through the south side door and proceed downstairs. Or, an elevator is available for strollers and wheelchairs.
