 Singing with Sylvia for Christmas

Our children make imprints on our hearts almost from the moment they are conceived. Thanks to my Smallprint charm bracelet, I can literally feel their imprint wherever I go.

Saskatoon mom and Smallprint franchise owner Lisa Steinkey creates hand-crafted silver keepsakes from fingerprints, handprints, footprints and even children's drawings. Prints are pressed into silver and fired in her basement kiln. The result is one-of-a-kind bracelets, necklaces, keychains, cuff links or ornaments that make perfect mementos and gifts.

My son's handprint {with his signature crooked pinky} and my sweet Ava Faith's precious footprints given to us at the hospital are captured forever in fine silver. After almost three years, {Yikes, that went fast!} I am finally getting around to getting my little rainbow girl's prints done to make my Smallprint charm bracelet complete.

My daughter and I went to Lisa's home studio to get her prints done. In no time at all, our prints were done with no mess and no fuss.

With the Smallprint Magic Inkless Print Kit, a colourless wet wipe is swept over the hand or foot and then applied to the paper in the kit. Later, Lisa works her own magic, shrinking the print and pressing it into silver.

Lisa took care to wash my daughter's hands afterward, but I never needed to fear ink getting onto the pretty white shirt she had picked out to wear that morning. It is so simple to use, Lisa sells the Inkless Print Kits on their own that may be used for other types of memory-makers.

While we were at it, we decided to do my girlie's fingerprint. Lisa can make lovely silver pendants from a child's or an adult's fingerprints. Again, there was no muss or fuss during this process.

Lisa made my daughter and I feel so comfortable in her home studio. My daughter came away feeling like she had participated in a special craft-time, and I came away excited to get my hands on the finished product!

Lisa is available to work with clients one-on-one by appointment at her home studio, during a Smallprint home party at your location, or at various events around the city. {For example, she will be taking prints at the Saskatoon Family Expo on November 14 at Prairieland Park.}

Contact Lisa via e-mail or call 306-262-3533 to book an appointment.

One very lucky Saskmom.com follower won a fingerprint pendant valued at $110! Entrants shared ways children have made an imprint on their hearts on Facebook and in the comments below.

  10. My kids have taught me the importance of slowing down and smelling the roses (even if it's the roses at Costco). It's the small things that matter in life and I am so happy I have 2 little angels to remind me of that every day.

  13. It looks like a winner was picked from a FB entry and not from this blog post. I thought you had to comment here to win though.

  14. Thank you for entering, everyone!

    I also appreciate the {Anonymous} feedback. For most of our give-aways, we provide a few options for entry. Those on Facebook could enter there and on the blog for another entry. Sorry for any confusion. I will try to be more clear about entry options in the future.
