The Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink, located in Kiwanis Park next to the Bessborough, is now open for public skating. This beautifully located rink was named Readers Digest 2006 "Best Outdoor Skating Rink in Canada."

The rink and warm-up shelter will be in operation most days from 12 to 9 p.m. and 11 to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Meewasin closes the rink at a wind chill of -31 C.

During operational hours, Meewasin rink supervisors will be in attendance. The facility and skates are available free of charge to the public. However, contributions to the silver collection are always appreciated.

You will need to bring your own helmets and safety equipment. No hockey sticks or pucks are allowed.

Meewasin is always in need of donated skates of all sizes. You can drop off donated skates at the rink
during operational hours or to the Meewasin Valley Centre.

Make plans for the PotashCorp Skating Party January 29 and the Cameco Family Day Skating Party February 20.
