Weaver Park, located on Eastlake Avenue between Hilliard Street and Ruth Street East, is a 10-acre green space in the Queen Elizabeth neighborhood. It is a space with something for all ages to enjoy.
In the fall of 2011, its playground recieved a beautiful and much-needed upgrade from its former wooden play structures. The playground now features:
two infant swings
one small slide and two side-by-side larger slides, all with an easy approach
several unique climbing and balancing structures for a variety of ages
a puppet show window (which is also a great place to play "Tim Hortons drive-through," according to Little J)
Weaver Park also has a basketball court, soccer field and bleachers, picnic tables and park benches. There is a ton of open green space across which is perfect for flying kites or running off some energy before nap time. This park also has some beautiful old trees to provide a shady spot for a blanket.
I am so proud of this park upgrade. Nice work, City of Saskatoon!
