 Singing with Sylvia for Christmas

get crafty at michaels

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Why not head to Michaels at Preston Crossing for a little inspiration for festive crafts that are appropriate for your child’s age and stage?

There are numerous ideas for toddlers, pre-schoolers and older kids on Michaels’ web site and on a zillion different Internet craft web sites. Pre-schoolers can Join the Knack for regular kids craft projects at Michaels in Saskatoon. As a matter of fact, on Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Michaels in Saskatoon will be hosting a heart-shaped frame make-it and take-it craft.

Even babies can be involved in craft-making. Here are a few ideas for your littlest valentines:
  • decorate a picture frame and include a picture of your baby for a lovely Valentine's Day gift
  • trace your baby’s hands or feet while they are sleeping and cut them out of pretty paper to découpage onto a nice box for family keepsakes
  • have your little one help you stick heart-shaped stickers onto the surface of your choice
  • bake heart-shaped cookies or cupcakes and have your baby help dress them with sprinkles
  • create a “family love” photo album for your little one with pictures of extended family members and friends to help with face and name recognition
  • make home-made finger paints from food colouring and pudding, Kool-Aid, jello or other edible goo
Share some of your favourite kid-friendly craft ideas below.

P.S. In case you haven't had to find out yet, Michaels does have a public washroom with a change table.
