dutch growers straw & pumpkin maze

Explore a maze created from straw bales and pumpkins at Dutch Growers Sept. 24 until Oct. 26, 2013.

The maze is open Monday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the exception of Thursdays when it is open until 9 p.m. It is located inside the Dutch Growers Greenhouse, so it is open rain or shine.

The maze is three bales high, so you can watch as your kiddos make their way through the maze, or you may want to join the fun -- especially with the smaller ones. While Dutch Growers recommends the maze for children ages 3 to 9, my son loved it when he was not quite two.

Even if your little one is too small to go through the maze, there are plenty of fun (and free) fall photo opportunities for all ages.

Make a date of it! Dutch Growers Garden Bistro is a nice to meet a friend for lunch or grab a toasty beverage. Its daily lunch menu features hearty made-from-scratch soups with homemade bread. The Bistro is also known for its delicious cinnamon buns, cookies and muffins.

There is no charge for the maze, but pumpkins are available for purchase.
Tables are set up for colouring and snack time. The pumpkin colouring pages feature a $10 coupon for Dutch Growers purchases over $50. {With Christmas around the corner, Dutch Growers has some stylish fashions, jewelry and gift ideas.}

TIP: The maze is often inundated with preschool and elementary school groups in the mornings.  If you can wait to go after 2:30 p.m., you may find it to be a lot slower. Group trips with five or more children may be arranged by calling 306-249-1222.

Thanks for the info. I have heard about it from others but not in much detail. I have been curious and you just gave me enough of a nudge to finally take my kids this year.

You are most welcome! I hope your kiddos enjoy it as much as my little one did.

Do you have lots of pumpkins this year for purchase? I run a small 4-H group and would love to come see your maze and purchase pumpkins.

We took our 2 year old last year and she loved it. We will probably take her again - it's a great (free) outing!

Blaine & family, I cannot speak for Dutch Growers, but having been there, I can tell you that there are a lot of pumpkins for purchase there. I think it would be a great place to take a 4-H group.
